The opening ceremony kicks things off and the building prompt is released to everyone at once. Your build window begins.

Any middle school or high school student, anywhere in the world. Whether you've shipped apps before or you've never written a line of code, you belong here.
Nothing! The hackathon is completely free to join. No entry fees, no hidden costs, ever.
Fully virtual. All you need is an internet connection, so you can join from your bedroom, your school library, or anywhere in between.
Not at all. This event is built to be beginner-friendly, and first-time hackers are especially welcome. Come curious; leave with something you built.
Teams of 1 to 3 people are welcome. We recommend teaming up with a partner or two, since it's more fun and you'll cover more ground, but a sharp solo project can absolutely take home the top prize.
That's the twist! The project prompts stay secret until the kickoff meeting on August 15, when they're revealed to everyone at once. Every team starts on a level playing field, so come curious and ready to think on your feet.
Winning teams receive Claude subscriptions and credits, with up to $500 in combined prizes across the podium.
A panel of judges (to be announced) will review every submission on creativity, impact, and execution. Full judging criteria will be published before the event begins.
